The Tie That Binds

Even before I began making my own frames I began collecting images of how other people put together their Walls of Frames for my own interest and inspiration.

Which means I have a number of images, like the one above, that I don't know the source of. While I don't want that to hold me back from sharing, if by chance any of my readers out there can refresh my memory I'd be more then happy to get the link up there.

While I totally dig all three of the images above, I have got to say, I've got a soft spot in my design eye for the continuity our all white frames provide.

Sale Follow Up

So the Frame Sale was awesome - a very big thank you to everyone who came out! We hope you, or the person you gifted the frames to, are enjoying them.

One of my most favourite parts about this sale had to be having the opportunity to meet some of our long time blog readers. I gotta say - I'm totally digging the fact that there are people out there who enjoy following our journey and are down with the stuff we're creating.

For those of you who missed the sale and have inquired about when the next one will be... that's a good question. As we sit here meeting today, we're tossing around ideas about where we go from here.

The consensus seems to be to hold another sale in the late winter/early spring. Of course the Refurbished Magnetic Frames will be on the bill but we Salvage Gardeners have got a couple of other fun products we're cultivating as we speak.

The Etsy shop is close to going live but, if you live in the Toronto area, you're always welcome to come shop by appointment, just drop us an email and we'll set up a time.

I'm also hoping get posting here on a more regular basis. And not solely about our the frames and the other products we're making, but also about design in general. A hub, if you will, where I can collect all the photos and links of design I come across that inspire me.

And lastly, we're tossing around the idea of making some videos (isn't that right Jamie?) about our whole Salvage Gardener process and even more specifically about what it would take to turn this little project into a full time dream business. Whoa!

As Rob would say, "We're throwing a bunch of things against the wall and seeing what sticks."

You Liked Them! You Really Liked Them!

So our inaugural Frame Sale was a success!

A big thanks to everyone who came out, shared their thoughts and ideas with us about the frames, to those who are spreading the word about them and of course, to those who decided to bring some home with them.

And so, due to the over whelming positive feedback, and the request for more frames by many interested parties, we've been back at, building away.

The plan is to have enough ready to do another sale on Saturday December 19th, 1pm - 3pm.

For those of you who don't know, we are located 5 minutes south of Yorkdale mall, right on the subway line.

Which means we are super easy to find once you get tired of battling the crowds in the mall that are fighting to get same old boring generic gifts. Because when I tell you these frames are the perfect gift I really mean PERFECT! Caps, bold, and italic perfect.

Any aunt, grandma, parent, or girlfriend would loose their mind if gifted with one of these frames and a card filled few special photos to put in it.

Prices range from $20 - $80.

Seriously. Can we make this any easier for you?

It's A Frame Sale!

Twice Or Thrice

We were back in the workshop yesterday .

Amending the old adage 'measure twice cut once' to suit our skill set, 'measure thrice cut once... or twice.'

Hoping to have a few things perfectly measured, cut and available for sale on December 1st. Just in time to cross someone off your gift giving list.

I shot this video of Kevyn while we were playing at being Salvage Gardeners in the garage last night.

I think it's the perfect way to start the story of this journey.

A couple of things to keep in mind...

One - while Kevyn and I are FULL of ideas, we're are not the handiest people in the world. My father is. Is what, you ask. THE handiest person in the world.

Two - we own and live in the house next door to my parents.

Nuff said.
